You're a woman lacrosse player if...

You go out in a miniskirt and tank top and your father doesn't ask where you are going!! - A.F.

You can eat 3 or 4 plates of pasta and still be able to run in the game the next day! - S.V.

You can actually play a sport in a skirt! - L.D.

You can catch and throw with your LAX stick better than you can use a cell phone!

Your out camping with your friends in a beautiful meadow and they tell you to run out to mid-field, you start running non-stop from one end of the field to the other, like any good mid-fielder.

At the end of practice, coach tells the team to do the mile run, and you ask, "Do you want that in laps, indian run, wind sprints or suicides?"

Pretty lame? Maybe, but send me some better ones and I'll put them up!

News

Ok ladies, the first week is done. We need to keep improving. Make sure you are practicing the mile over the weekend because we will be running a timed mile on Friday Feb. 23rd. We should all be in good enough shape to make it under 8 min. Remember to bring your sneakers.

February 23rd is picture day. See Coach J if you need a form.

Here is your last chance to play before season starts:
I am writing because the NCWLOA is trying to organize a lacrosse official's training clinic the weekend of February 10th and 11th. We are fortunate to have a lot of great candidates this year and as always we are looking to expand our roster. We are trying to get a high school playday going on February 11th in the afternoon (1-4 PM). We did this last year with great success and I am hoping that you will help us out again. This will help us train new officials and advance the education of existing officials in our area. We would like your players to get as much out of this as possible too and we will be instructing them on rules as we play. This will be an informal playday: we will group girls into teams and they will wear pinnies. We are looking to have games from 1-4 at Durham Academy. Even if you find that there only a few girls from your team that can make it, please encourage them to come! The more games that we can get going, the better it will be from our training perspective. We can't thank you enough for your support. Please let me know how many girls you can have come to this playday so we can work out a schedule and get a sense of how many games we can play. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thanks again, Heather Morell NCWLOA Recruiting and Education Chair 919-604-2370

Ladies, A couple of things:
     * get physical forms in, without them you may not practice
     * be sure to have goggles and mouth guard to start practice. Mouth guard cannot be clear or white.
     * I have ordered skirts (not kilts or Skorts) for the season, we will use the same jerseys as last year, New full uniforms cost too much.
     * practice with both hands. ground balls, catching, throwing, cradling, dodging...

Wednesday January 31st there will be practice at 4:00 p.m. on the practice soccer field as usual and Coach Faulhaber will be supervising. Keep running on your own and pick up your stick. If you haven't started yet, it's in your best intrest to begin soon. Season starts in 2 weeks!!!
